is placed in a holding cell containing Girl Scout Cookies, what do you think is going to happen?

Man in Holding Cell Succumbs to Cookies

CHESTER, Vt. (AP) -- A New Hampshire man being held by police was caught snacking on a handful of Girl Scout cookies and charged with larceny.

Ethan Frock, 30, of Keene, N.H., was riding in a car with his brother when they were stopped by police. They discovered that Frock was in possession of a small amount of marijuana.

He was taken to the Vermont State Police barracks in Rockingham and briefly kept in a storage room because the barracks lack a holding cell.

The room contained several boxes of Girl Scout cookies, and court documents state that police specifically told Frock to leave the cookies alone.

But Frock had a snack and was charged after police caught him. He pleaded guilty to marijuana possession and petit larceny, receiving a fine of $500.

It would seem to me the petit larceny charge could be overturned on grounds of entrapment

Sounds like a setup.
Anybody that watched Sanford and Son would know that pot makes you desire to eat alot.

Is that why they put the seeds in Brownies?

That's very true, but only after you've slept a few hours. :D

Blimey, that is entrapment alright.
If he lasted more than 5 minutes before tucking in he deserves a medal, not a conviction!

Fortunately that wouldn't happen here any more, in a bizarre act of being semi-sensible the government reclassified cannabis recently - it's still illegal but only on the same level as having prescription drugs without a scrip. They just confiscate it and send you on your way.

I'm not going to speculate on what happens to all the confiscated pot, but I know for a while in the borough I used to live in hard drugs were often found to be cut with fingerprinting powder :D

He was found guilty of marijuana possession and petit larceny ( whatever that is ) and was only fine $500? What a strange law that is.

Kakero, he had a small amount of a fairly harmless non-addictive plant, and ate a few cookies. $500 seems a bit harsh for that! He's hardly America's Most Wanted LOL.

Emm...from where I am, you can be jailed or even get a death by hanging sentense depending on how much drugs one person is carrying.

I guess different country view things differently.

Yeah I know the laws in your part of the world are very tough for that sort of thing. Fortunately that's not the case the world over.

As I said earlier, here in the UK it would just be confiscated, you wouldn't even be taken to a police station.

cruel and unusual punishment if you ask me.
