I was browsing through the web and came across this, see if you all can solve it (shouldn't be too hard).

One day two men walked into the bar. Both men were exactly alike, a clone you could say. They both sat down for the bartender to fix them a drink. The first man sat down, waited on the bartender to fix his drink. When it was given to him he drunk it very fast, left, and had a happy life. The next man sat down, and waited on the bartender to fix his drink. When the drink was given to him he drunk it very slowly, and died right there on the spot. Why did the first man live but the second man die?

The bartender gave the second man poisoned drink?

Downunda 02-19-2004 01:19 AM

nope, they both got the same drink ;)

The bar caught on fire, or something similar?

The first man took the olive out of the martini before drinking it?

The bartender gave them urine?

They were very old. Since they're exactly alike, they would die at the same time. The first guy got his drink first. The second guy had to wait a little longer, so he died of old age. The first guy probably died too, but since he got his drink, he got to live his happy lfe .

It's because the poison took time to dissolve, so the man who drank it straight away didn't get any of it, while the slow drinker gave it time to dissolve, so he actually got caught by the poison...

EDIT: Darn spelling...

Can we have the correct answer now?

Stop being fixated on the poison; you're limiting yourselves. I think something happened to or in the actual bar.
We were told the drinks were identical.
The fact that the one who died lingered obviously has some importance. I'm inclined to think there was a fire, or perhaps someone robbed the bar and shot the second one.
Could it be poison? Sure.
But that seemes too far-fetched for a riddle like this.

And urine isn't toxic, Kakero. Even if it was, they both got it. So that rules that out, hm?
