All the manuals and FAQs I see say you can Import BG1 chars but none say HOW!!!!

Could someone walk a techno illiterate person through it? I go to Import on BG2 and my char isnt there, only generics.
I finished BG1 and it said it saved the char file.
I need an idiot proof step by step by step..click here click there walkthrough please!

Start a new game in BG2 and on the character creation screen there is a "Import" Button,that you press and find your old character...

Remember that you have to copy your old character to the Baldur's Gate 2 character file. Otherwise it won't work.

That's the problem.. cant find those folders and dunno how to copy them. I start game and go to Import and the char isnt there, only generic thief, generic fighter, etc...
Ive found the BG1 char file and found my saved char.. but cant find the BG2 char file and dont know how to copy it....
and I got this kick ass ranger with 19st/20dex/18com/12int/20wis/13cha who rocked Serverok's little world

OK. I think it's rather simple. You only need to copy your saved character into the characters folder in the Baldur's Gate 2 directory.

Another option is to copy your final save into the saves folder, but I'm not too sure about that one. Try importing your character file first. Good luck.
