Okay, here's my gripe: Valentine's Day costs more than it should.
In Chicago, the restaurants are all chargin DOUBLE normal, with limited reservation availability. By "charging double" I mean that a restaurant with normal entree prices of $20 or less is charging $40+ per person for Valentine's Day, with a SET menu. It's deplorable, and worse than normal due to Valentine's Day occuring on a weekend. My suggestion: FOREGO Valentine's Day itself and take your honey to a nice outing on Friday the 13th or Sunday the 15th. Less wait, less lines, easy reservations, and normal costs will be your reward. This is the conclusion me and my wife reached regarding the holiday after searching many restaurants and bars. Do yourself a favor and.... BOYCOTT VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!! |
Boycott V-day? Nah, just the restraunts. Feel free to cook a good meal for you loved one :D .
As for me, I'm completely single in all senses of the word so V-day is incredibly lowcost for me. |
Everyone knows Valentine's Day was just over-hyped by Hallmark anyway, and single people like me tend to despise it. Feh, it's not worth my time.... though it's fun to go carousing with a friend and celebrate being single, and flirt with guys who are already on dates. Throw a little chaos their way.
And for the record, V-Day is a wonderful charity devoted to helping stop violence against women. |
It's nothing special... everyday is V-day for me... unfortunately my girlfriend doesn't see it...

What if everybody just boycots Hallmark and American Greetings, and only buys homemade cards from ma & pa stores?

TL, cook for your honey yourself. The rewards will be so much greater. :D
