Heh.. I have a rather stupid problem. I need to know how you call someone from the Island of Curaçao. A Curaçaoer? Unlikely. If anyone knows the answer.. it would be of great help to me

General: Curaçaoënaar
Male: Curaçaoër
Female: Curaçaose

As for a translation into English, "inhabitant of Curaçao" is the best I can do.

I don't know, but I'd guess Curacaoan. Judging by the website I looked at, www.curacao.de/en/index.html I'd just call them Lucky S.O.B.s!

Dutch will do. Thanks Groj. You too, of course, VulcanRider

Sheesh, don't make things so complicated. It's just an Antilliaan, just as someone from Groningen or Limburg is Dutch. ;)

Limburgers are Dutch as well?

I'm afraid they are, although i'm not so sure about our good buddies in Kerkrade. I know two guys from there, and i have to listen very closely to what they're mumbling, i can't understand a word of that dialect.

And i won't even mention Friesland. I have a strong suspicion they are not from this planet, with all their Fierljeppen and stuff. :D

Oet mon.

Apparently, they find such terms quite insulting. The reason I need to know this; I was interviewing someone from Aruba yesterday, and he said something like "Die Curaçaoënaaren verpestten ons imago". I needed to quote that literally.
