Just wondering if it's possible to configure Outlook to receive MSN email instead of having to go into MSN Explorer. I prefer using Outlook and Internet Explorer. MSN Explorer looks too cartoonish and I don't feel like my email belongs to me on my PC, thus a preference for Outlook.

I forgot how I did it, but I found a page where it's described how to do it. I hope it helps.
http://www.sniggins.com/receive_hotm...k_express.html Edit - Err, is MSN the same as Hotmail? Ahh, ignore me. [ 02-06-2004, 06:23 PM: Message edited by: Spelca ] |
I would HIGHLY recommend that you do NOT do that. There are way too many security issues with MS Outlook. Even the Magik 8 Ball says so "Outlook not so good!"
You are better served using the web interface to Hotmail/MSN. If you really want to keep your email local, use a different POP3 client. Netscape/Mozilla have one built in, there is also a stand alone. Eudora is another Pegasas is another. Outlook is just way to vulnerable to all of the worms and viruses out there. |
Remember, Outlook and Outlook Express are completely different. As far as I know (and I say this from personal experience), configuring OE to check Hotmail seems to be easy enough and risk free. Trying to get Outlook to do it is a nightmare.
