I need help!!! No one can seem to find out why my pc keeps restarting itself. I'll be working on it or playing IWD or whatever and all of a sudden the blue screen of death flashes and the damn thing restarts! Then it tells me that it has recovered from a serious error!
I sent the error report and they tell me that its a device driver, but I can't figure out which one. The guys at work can't seem to duplicate the error. (Works great when they have the thing.)
So far we have swapped out the memory cards so its not that. Swapped out the modem, not that either. Checked the video card, reinstalled the OS (XP pro), and check the motherboard and processor. None of those either. Unplugged the printer too. I even went so far as to switch to an older ps2 mouse and still the same thing happens. Can it be the CD ROM?
I'm at a loss. Can anyone help?

What brand of pc are you using, and what is the video card?

No brand like Dell or Compaq. I ordered it from D&H a distributor we use. AMD Athlon processor 1800+
nVIDIA Riva TNT2 Model 64 with the latest driver updates.

Well, assuming it's a hardware problem (you ran a virus scan right?) my first guess would be that your RAM has a problem with it, but you say you looked at that. The next thing that occures to me is that it's possible that your power supply is bad.

Power supply you say? That's what I'll be checking out next.

Doesn't a blue screen usually indicate a hardware conflict or error? Have you tried changing your graphics drivers? That may work...
