How can you make a mage cast spells faster besides haste and such, i always notice Iranicus and mages of the like to cast spells one after another without the break in between.

another question, i just got this game and was wondering, does Iranicus join you party(i doubt it but i guess its worth asking:)

answer to question number 1) there is no way to erase the gap between casting spells until you have a mage powerful enough to cast improved alcrity, a ToB spell.
2) No irenicus won't join you but

In the ToB mod ascenion, his vampiric "sister" Bodhi will if you have an evil party and your Bhaalspawn promises her his soul.

Nope Irencius can't join your party. You'll never be able to cast spells as fast as Irencius but there are some items that let you cast faster. These are:
Robe Of Venca- bought from deidre in the back of the adventutrers mart(only if you have TOB or the bonuse merchants installed)
Amulet of power-continue the story and you should be able to get this.

Just a little note that Haste does not improve your casting speed. You just wave your hands faster. ;)

sorcerers cast faster then mages thats half why irenicus casts so fast and hes at a high level...

Wrong on both counts.

Sorcerers and Mages have the same base casting speed.

Jon Irenicus is not a Sorcerer, according to game code anyway. He is a Mage if I remember correctly.

He wears the Robe of Vecna and some funky ring that grants him permanent Improved Alacrity... ...

i know im desperate but can somebody help me im a lv12 mage that cant beat 4 mind flayers and 2 umberhulks can anyone help?pleases im so desperate.
