Bob Keeshan, the star of Captain Kangaroo, died today at his home in VT. He was 77 years.

I used to watch his show everyday when I was a kid. Very sad. :(

Peace to the Captain. I watched it growing up as well. It was a different world...

A little side note ,the captain was also a medal of Honor winner in WW2! He served with the actor Lee Marvin..I also watched him as a kid back in Cleve.Great man!!

Sorry to hear about his passing. I loved the show when I was a kid.

Saw it on the news tonight...very sad :( I think his philosophy of a simple, violence free show for the kids was a beautiful one.

Man, losing Captain Kangaroo and Mister Rogers within a year of one another. Really sad, especially since no one could replace either of their shows.
