I just received my first Citibank scam email, and I thought I'd open it to see how artfully crafted the email is in order to get suckers to expose their private information.

Copied and pasted below is the text... honest!

I wonder if whoever sent this out believed that piece of funmail about only the first and last letters of the word mattering...

Pathetic!

I get emails like that all the time. Spam spelled badly. I think they do that because some filters now also go through the text and stop the spam like that (I think ). I don't see any other reason why they would make the text look differently every time... :(

Legal reasons, probably. If anyone calls the police on them, they didn't ask for your credit card. Just a thought.

Naw... they just asked for your ATM number and your PIN. There's nothing they can get with that... can they? :D

I've reported it over to Citibank, which has already been working on this particular variant.
