I believe Henry came in second, and Ronaldo third.

I wonder why they chose Zidane though, he had a very modest year with Madrid.

the Golden Ball is awarded to the European Player of the Year and is decided by a panel of journalists.

Zidane was world player of the year.
It does seem that only teams from Italy and Spain can win this award. I was surprised he won, his year has not been the gretest.
Oh well 33 managers ( I think) can't be wrong.
