Leo Kottke

Anyone else know him? Like him? This guy is a genius. Folkish guitarist with a real twist.

I was playing some of The Tea Party's acoustic stuff in my theatre one day, and a guy I work with, an older guy said "hmmm, sounds a bit like Leo Kottke".

I didn't think of it for months until I was in a CD shop and saw the name in the much ignored folk section. I picked up the lone CD sitting there and took it home, sound unheard...

The album, 'One Guitar, No Vocals' became one of my all time favourites on first listen! I can't hear it enough. Some of the most inventive, intuitive and intriguing acoustic playing ever.

Beautiful stuff - gets all my 10 !!

Yeah Leo is a God on the guitar. I've seen him live a couple of times and it is always a treat. I swear when he plays the 12 string it sounds like he is playing both sides of a duet

If he is ever in your area he is worth checking out live. He tells the craziest stories between songs.
