So, I guess it's pretty safe to say that there won't be any more BG games about the present hero, the child of Bhaal, Imoens half-sibling, and all that made *sob*. But does anyone know if there will be a new serie about another BG character or perhaps a story which took place elsewhere in the land of Faerun? Any juicy rumors going around? Any tasty news?

By the way, while we're at it, does anyone know when the release of Icewind Dale 2 is due?

I read somewhere that IWD2 will be the last infinity engine game (not sure though) if that's right there will never be games like BG again only Dungeon Siege and Neverwinter Nights-like games :(
About IWD2: I can't find a release date.

Ohhh! Cruel fate if it is so! No more BG nor IwD games??!! That is just aweful! *sob* Hopefully the guys behind the games will change their minds... (or we'll have to make them... *evil grin*)

By the way, I actually found a release date for IwD. According to a gameshop site, it's due on the 30'th of August. That's too long a wait if you ask me... :-(

If there'll be no more new games, I'm going over then and givin em a huge punch in the face. One of us should take over the company, IW would make new series, I got plenty of ideas. One of us better restore order!

Personally, I think the engine used for Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale would make a great online-only game engine if Bioware is willing to shell out the money for servers, and if we fans are willing to pay for it monthly (Much like Ultima Online).

So who wants to start two petitions? One for the game engine to remain, and another that states if they ever buy servers, we'll all pay to play the game on that server? (Trust me, most online gaming like UO is well worth it, in my humble opinion)

I agree with Jerr Conner, the BG engine should be preserved! Count me in if starting up that petition... :)

We just need someone who is willing to start one (I'm not good at these things), at petition online.come I think...

They can also make the tools for making infinity engine games easier to use and sell them , like NWN tools so you can make your own games.
