I hope they get them put out soon, and that everyone in the areas are safe and ok. It's horrid.. :(

Stop and do this if you can: Close your eyes and pray for rain and for the winds to stop.

I just saw a headline that said 13 lives and 1100 homes have been lost to these fires. What a calamity!

Well I read 19 lives lost and about 650 homes. But with a fire this out of control I imagine it will be more now.

I hope they get this under control soon.

rain might not be the best thing with that much scorched earth around, it could result in massive landslips. There isn't much mere people can do in the face of such collossal natural forces. Just hang tight Californians, hang tight and ride it out if you can.

It is certainly horrible down here. The smoke is so thick now you can't go outside without something over your face, and they've pretty much shut down all the schools until the smoke cleares and people can function normally outdoors :(

One of my better friends has parents that are in the line of danger, being so close that they can see the flames at night.

We're familiar with that scenario...it's something we face here in Australia every summer. And looks like this summer will be a hot one.
