I'm looking for the place where you can "release" and "renew" your machine's DNS, or is it DHCP, or is it called something else?
Anyway, what I'm referring to is the IP address your machine obtains. There is somewhere in 98 with a "release" and "renew" option, but I can't find it. BTW, my machine is set to receive it's IP automatically, and it is not assigned, so that's not the problem, and shutting down for awhile doesn't solve the problem. It started after I took my son's computer to work this weekend and hooked it to our network. Now it won't release my work network's IP, so it can't pick up my home network again. It's really weird. I can manually change the settings to correct the problem, but I KNOW there is a "release" and "renew" option somewhere and it's really bugging me that I can't remember where it is. Thanks! I think its in winipcfg.
Failing that, the ipconfig /release_all and ipconfig /renew_all will do the trick. |
