Okay....I am now at the stage where I want to make my online Guide look pretty, so I'm shopping around for screenshots and the like, maybe some good backgrounds. In the best of all possible worlds, I'm looking for images that accurately reflect parts of the Guide: One example of this would be a section from Chapter 12, dealing with the conversion from BG1 to BG2:

Quote:

More bad news: The 'paper dolls' in the Inventory screen were changed--for the worse. Here, picture in your mind the way your paper doll looked when you were a Human Fighter in BG1. Now, take that image and put it in the washing machine. Take it out when it's halfway through the Spin cycle, and wring it out as hard as you can. Now drop it into a wet heap on the concrete floor of the laundry room to dry. Three days later, come back and put it on. That's what the Inventory screen looks like in BG2. Not only that, but Elves look ridiculous: In BG1, you were a truly bad-ass Half-Elven Ranger, with 19 Strength and a pure powerhouse of brawling Tankitude. Now in BG2, you look like you're made of toothpicks and rubber bands, and about as physically intimidating as oh, say, Ally McBeal. Gnomes have to put up with stupid-looking little goatee beards.
The ideal illustration for this would be a pair of screenshots, showing the Inventory Screen of a Female Elven Mage with a Traveller's Robe and a Staff, in BG1 and another in BG2.

I'm also rummaging through the screenshots that BioWare and PlanetBaldursGate have posted online, but of course, better selection is always better. If you do contribute anything, please send *.JPGs only--I don't think my poor Inbox could handle an influx of bitmaps.

Many thanks!

Oh, yeah: Maybe it would help if I included my Email address. It's

Must be that old "18 INT, 3 WIS" phenomenon again. (duhhh....)

A few cool spell effects would be neat, too. Things like Gate, Armor of Faith, Bigby's, etc.

But the thing is, elves DO look like they're made of toothpicks, regardless of how strong they are. Elves are, to quote an overused description, "Graceful but frail." They have lower constitution than other races, so they're less hardy and less hardy-looking. Almost all elves are lanky.

Yes, I know Elves are supposed to be skinny. My point was that I'd like some screenshots to this effect, to use as illustrations in my Guide. I am not able to take my own screenshots, as my good computer died a couple of months ago, leaving me with a Pentium I 100, with a 1.2 gig hard drive. I can write HTML on it, but I can't play Baldur's Gate.
