I started smoking in 1984 and for the first few years it was only when I was out drinking, but before long, I was buying them by the carton. :(

Today marks 5 months nicotine free. I smoked my last cigarette on May 17th. :D

Great news Ronn. You deserve a pat on the back. It took my wife being diagnosed with emphysema and told if she kept on smoking that she would be dead in 2-3 months to quit. I'm glad it didn't take something that drastic for you.

Good for you, Ronn.

I'm needing to curb my smoking habit. I've gone from occassional to daily. It's weird -- I don't smoke all day long, and then I have like 5 cigs between 9 pm and 1 am.

Thanks!

The strange thing is, I'm not really sure how I did it.

I've tried very hard before and have managed to quit two different times for about a year back in the 90's, but then I was always thinking about smoking. Not this time though. I guess I just needed to be ready.

Smoking is one habit that doesn't lend itself to moderation, that's for sure. ;)

My wife used to do the same thing. She would not smoke at work, but when she came home, she smoked quit a bit. She quit when she got pregnant in '97, but about a year after Kelsey was born, she started again. Then two years ago, she quit for good.

<--------Knight of Rose, huh?

The latest version of the beholder was certainly better than the first, but I'm glad to be moving on... even if it means expressing my feminine side.
