I had to let you leave.
I tried a whole lifetime,
But it was not meant to be

The day you left my heart,
Will forever leave a hole.
Although I can not love you,
I lost bits of my soul.

I whispered a life of lies
Tore the heart from your chest.
I did not understand it,
On how you tried your best.

Now that you are gone,
I know I was a fool.
To ever pretend to love,
And break the golden rule.

The words you spoke that day,
Showed the wound I had made.
It proved the life I live,
Is lived all in vain.

This day I vow to love,
The person I will meet.
Where ever it shall be,
Shall be forever sweet
