Do not adjust your monitor, the Whackmiester is back and I have a question: Somewhere on TV I heard that Saddam wanted to "Rebuild the Babalonyian Empire." Is that supposed to be a bad thing or what?
|
good thing, nad thing, it doesn't matter. Rebuilding the Babylonian Empire would be impossible in the modern political arena. Culture, technology and political stratification has changed so vastly throughout the world in the thousands of years since Babylon had real imperial influence that a new Babylon wouldn't be able to exist in the same dynastic imperial form. No, I think it was just something he said to put a sort of jingoist pride in his population: 'we used to be great, and by jingo we'll be great again'. You know, propaganda stuff.

*Vaskez is back with an answer, don't adjust your monitors*
Good question....I think it would be a bad thing if Saddam controlled all the areas that were once part of the Babylonian empire. *Goes to check historical atlas to see exactly which areas they were*. Correction: Saddam controlling any area is a bad thing. :D |
I really dont think Saddam has the resources(sp?) to build any empire. hes already lost his war, and his life is forfeit. as soon as he gets caught, hell either end up in a dungeon or then he'll be executed(i dont personally care which). If he doesnt get caught, then hell be lurking in some caves in hiding like Osama not being able to do anything but sting the Alliance...the populus of Irak are doing a much better job in this war then Saddam did, IMO
