My wife and I are taking a trip to the 1,000 Islands in New York. Anyone been there?

The 2 highlights will be exploring the Boldt and Singer Castles which are on island in the St. Lawrence river.

In 1889 George Boldt started building the castle, on Heart Island, for his family, but especially for his beloved wife. Just as the castle was nearing completion, his wife Louise died of a heart attack at age 42. All work was stopped and he never set foot on the island again. Such a sad story.
