How stupid can you possibly get?

An actual Technical support call:
TS: Tech Support, how may i help?
C(caller): My coffee holder is broken but I have a one year warranty on the configuration, where can I replace it?
TS: Excuse me, coffee holder? Didi you acquire this on some sort of a presentation?
C: No, I got it with the PC, I don't know about any presentation.
TS: Can you describe the device?
C: It's on the front of the PC, it's labeled 52x.

I heard of a guy who shot(litterally, with a 12 gauge) his Dell laptop because it said to him "bad and an invalid".

I've got more, but I want you to give something before I toss my trump cards.

Some people are incredibly stupid! I know the email where you CD-ROM drive is opened and presented to you as a beer holder, but I hadn't heard that one yet!!

Oldies but goodies... A friend of mine told me about his dad, finally taking a basic introduction to computers class. As the instructor began explaining how to log in, my friend's dad asked him to back up a step -- "How do you turn this thing on?" :D

TS: ...and that should be it.
C: And it will connect me to an internet?
TS: Err... yes.
C: And it is the latest version of the internet?

Really...

C: My computer says it can't find the printer. I've tried turning the monitor to face the printer but it just wont see it!

Thats a little unfair, just cos you don't understand something doesn't make you stupid, some people just don't understand computers

**True Story**
I remember for a couple of years ago, my mother in law (age 70+) got our old PC installed at her home. I had set up the most common used programs on the desktop (solitare, games for her grand children etc.). I told her that she could play solitare if she just clicked on that icon (I pointed it out with my finger) with the mouse. My mother in law took the mouse in her hand, lifted it from the table and moved it to the monitor trying to 'push' the icon physically with the mouse

Shortly after that she attended a PC course for beginners, and I must say, she has learned a lot since then

my favourite still is the post-it: "honey I found the disk you've been looking for all day" pinned to the fridge with a magnet ... along with the disk :D
