it breaks again. This is getting really annoying. I woke up this morning and turned the computer on, and tried to connect to the internet, and the strangest thing happened. First I couldn't get onto any sites, or log onto MSN. I rebooted the computer and tried again. Although I was connected to the internet, again, nothing would load. MSN suggested it was a problem with my firewall, so I temporarily disabled it and dailed up again. Then a bizzare message came up, which I have taken a screenshot of and uploaded to:

I closed this message, put my firewall back up, and suddenly everything is fine, as far as I can tell.

My question is, does anyone know what happened? And what that bizzare message was? Thank you very much if you have any comments. Do you think I should send it back, again? Thank you, pcgiant.

tis not an error. whenever you take down your firewall there is some servace you are running (maby MSN or something?) that constantly bombards you with annoying messages (adverts). it looks like you dont have the font it was using tho becase i normaly get the same when i disable the firewall but with coherant messeges.

to avoid this you need to keep your firewall up, but forward only the ports used for talking in MSN (i think). this should stop the messeges.

That looks like someone trying to spam you through the messenger service. Disable it, and life will be better...

Check the other thread on this page for more discussion about it. And if you don't have 'em in already, Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D are required in my book.

Thank you everyone, I haven't got any more of those messages so far, so I think I'm ok. Cheers
