Well, I like the mythic quality about it. Lucas interviewed and talked to Joseph Campbell at length before he wrote the screenplay. He incorporated all of these mythic elements you see in all world myth and religion and created these worlds in the future. To me it it had a feeling of being very new but very old at the same time.
