Its been bugging me lately. In any site, when you register, does it get emailed to the webmaster or something. And how do they give you your password in your email address. Does the websmaster literally look at everyone who joined and then email the password to them, or is it machines?

But most sites have to pay for webmasters and admins, so they just use scripts which check everything automaticaly. In the very large sites, like hotmail, its doubtful any human will ever look at your account details unless you do something to draw attention to it.

<span style="color: lightblue">The passwords are generated and emailed by machine. It is possible to - as Ziroc does - set it up so they have to be verified by some process before the email can go out. But, no, it isn't completely done by human, there'd be no guarantee that they give you the right password - scripts aren't prone to making typos. ;)

At The Silver River, the software does it automatically. But we are rather small and have no ban list and we don't seem to attract trolls. I am not even sure if our software would allow for it to be done other than automatic (as in manually like Z does). I'm curious now though and will probably ask my "partner-in-crime", Bardan about it.
