I just had a telemarketer leave a message on my answering machine trying to sell me a computer! The message was five minutes long and detailed all the computer's specs. Usually they just want to sell me the newspaper or long distance, but a thousand dollar PC? Crazy... [img]graemlins/1dizzy.gif[/img]

Would you buy something for hundreds of dollars from an unsolicited telemarketer? I find it hard to fanthom that anybody would...

What you have to remember is that the guy on the phone is just doing his job, and shouldn't be a target for abuse.

The company employing him, however, is pushing it a bit when they leave 5 minute telemarketing messages trying to sell expensive merchandise. If I need a new PC, i'll go out and buy on or build one. If I don't need one, then i won't be persuaded to get one by a phonecall [img]smile.gif[/img]

Yes I agree. I feel sorry for them actually, having to do such a cruddy job. They don't always help themselves though. The other day I answered the phone, and this was the conversation:
Me: Hello?
Her: Is Mr or Mrs [last name] there?
Me: Who can I say is calling?
Her: Crystal.
Me: Who?
Her: Crystal.
Me: I see. What are you calling about?
Her: Oh well I'm from [some company] doing research on [something].
Me: We're not really interested in that actually.
