Today I'm back with speedy fast cable internet. now all I have to do is learn how to type with more than 4 fingers and it will seem like I'm really speeding!
this is great! I wanted to time how long it would take to bring up the main page here at IW. When I looked at the clock I pushed the button in my favorites to bring up IW, then I looked down at the computer screen and IW was there all loaded. I thought I messed up and pushed the enter button to soon so, I got out of IW and started over again but this time I looked at the computer. Then I pushed enter and BAM the whole page loaded all at the same time! What a rush!! I had to try it again and every page I click on loads BAM!! This is totaly unreal. I can't wait to down load a 200 meg MOD to see how long that it takes.

I Just love getting new toys. ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMM

TheCrimsomBlade 06-11-2003 04:23 AM

Paladin2000 06-11-2003 04:48 AM

well, for a start, you could check the package you subcribed. I have no idea what kind of packages are there in US.

Congratulation - makes you wonder how you ever survived with a modem, right

A work use their 1MB broadband connection, but at home I'm still on a 56K. Don't be mean! :(

I remember when I found out cable was coming to my area I couldn't wait! But I had to...lol. From the time I heard the rumor to the actual launch in my area was nearly 18 months, but I signed up in advance and was the 5th person connected on the first day. It was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

As far as downloading things, you should now find that the biggest thing slowing you down is how fast the various sites can send you the file as opposed to how fast you can d/l it. ;)

I downloaded the 180MG Desert Combat.35 mod for Battlefield 1942 in about 10 minutes. That was while surfing and downloading a couple of smaller files at the same time, so....

Enjoy!!

Congrats! Isn't high-speed great?

One suggestion for you to keep things going well: install a firewall ASAP, either hardware (my preference) or software. You may be amazed at how many people are scanning your system trying to find a hole they can exploit...

Great suggestion Bungleau. Extremely important as well.

Try Zone Alarm, it's one of the best free software firewalls out there. ;)
