HALLLOOOOO, PPL

I have a question...If I start BG 1 with an elven Specialist mage or just plain mage and I transfer him to SoA, can I make him a Sorcerer? And also, if it's gonna be a specialist mage, what should it be, diviner or enchanter? I would like him to be a conjurer, but elves can't choose that class...
Tks for your answers!

as i recall, bg1 doesnt have a specialist mage right? (im not sure ) i chose to become a specialist mage necromancer from bg1-->bg2.. ;)

they do have specialist mages in BG1. Enchanter and Diviner are the options for the elves...

I'm quite sure I'm right...but which would my elf choose?

To answer both your questions, yes you can be a specialist mage in BG1 and no you can't switch to a sorceror in BG2, its considered a separate class.

Elves can't be Conjurers, but Half-Elves can.

No, you can't be a Sorcerer in BG1, simply because that class hadn't been implemented yet, nor can you choose a straight Mage and become a Sorcerer when you enter BG2.

However, I see nothing wrong with doing a little cheating to "fake" a Sorcerer in BG1: Just play a straight Mage, and hack yourself to have one more spell slot of each level, like a Specialist Mage. But you also have to restrict yourself to reading only FIVE spells of each level. Then, once you take that character into BG2, use Shadowkeeper to turn yourself into a Sorcerer. (You may need to remove the extra spell slots you hacked yourself, I'm not sure.)

Yeah, Six's is porbably the best for that hacked sorcerer, i was gonna suggest makign the socerer clas, but his is much easier

Actually, I'm just gonna roll the stats for a mage in BG1, and then use the ShadowKeeper to give a sorcerer the exact same stats my mage in BG1 had. Of course the hit points won't be as low as a lvl 1 mages...It's easier than your ideas.
As for completing both series with 1 character, I'll start an evil dwarf fighter, and turn him into an Berserker as soon as I get in SoA =) The guy will get grand mastery in warhammers and axes...two weapon style.
