Hi guys! I have a question here that haunts my mind since last night, and the day before...
On the 4th level, just before you enter the portal to the 5th, you meet a cambion who wants to gamble with you. I lost the first and second time some of my experience. the third time I drew the EMPEROR card from the deck of many things, and got MIND SHIELD on my main character.... the thing is, I slept a couple of times after that and I didn't loose the mental shield, so I thought it was permanent. Later in the game, however, I did loose it. Is that normal or should I still have it?

The deck of many things is insanely powerful.

Most if not all of the deck of many things effects are permanent.

Ok, but what about this mental shield specifically, do you remember? If it's not permanent I don't need to worry, but if it IS permanetn, I will load the game and start all over from that point again...

You have a 25% chance to win either the first or the second round. So if you want to ensure that you win, just Quicksave before you gamble, and Quickload when you lose. You will always lose the third round, so gamble for the Wish scroll and the Spectral Brand in the first two rounds, and gamble with the wardstone in the third round. You will lose, but the Cambion will only borrow it and return it to you, so no worries there.

I thought the Mind Shield from the Emperor was permanent too, but I found out that it only lasts for a few days from another boardie.

You can pickpocket the Deck of Many Things from the Cambion without consequences. ;)

shouldnt this be on the ToB forum?

We do allow Watcher's Keep questions here, as it is available during Shadows of Amn as an add-on. We do, however, require that TOB be displayed in the first post so as not to confuse those who don't have the ToB add-on.
