SARS is very much a reality, with a mortality rate of over 10%( 203 confirmed cases, 25 deaths) in my country. So don't you dare tell me it is just 'a joke'. It is attitudes like this that help spread the disease. </font>[/QUOTE]I understand if you are upset from Djinn's statement Dundee, but I feel I must point out some things. You can´t really calculate a mortality rate from 200 cases. That really says nothing. AFAIK you have been hit the hardest over there in Asia since it is there the virus originated. We have it in its attenuated form I believe. However I do not believe that SARS is a joke.
Djinn, I don´t understand how you can call SARS a joke. You compare it to influenza which is a somewhat invalid comparison. You could compare it to the Hong Kong flu though. ;) But is is definitely not a joke. If we should apply your comparison to other areas I could state that the Ebola hemorrhagic fever is a joke since malaria is taking a heavier toll in Africa. :(
On topic, I heard that we probably would get this tournament. So they move it out of China because of the SARS to here, the country with most SARS cases in the west.
