I've been into the cellars under the Copper Coronet and have found a hand and been given a quest to find other items(body parts-Ithink) to make a sword-(again Ithink). Is the sword a talking sword, what are its stats and where are the other pieces of the puzzle?? I have been looking for the other pieces of the puzzle for some time and have only found a hand

Yes, it's a talking two-handed sword, its enchantment is +3 and it shields the wielder from Charm and Confusion.

The other items you need for the quest are a Ring, a Staff, and a friend's Blood.
The ring is on a statue at the end of the first corridor (the one you enter from the Copper Coronet), the staff is on a Kobold Shaman that you have to kill, and to get the blood you will need to kill Quallo's friend the Carrion Crawler.

EDIT: Oh, and to finish the quest you need to find the pipe room and put the appropriate items in each of the four pipes. IIRC, you need to click the pipes in this order: 3-1-2-4
