He's been ready to level up for awhile now, but I'm having a problem when I try to level him up. I go to the little level up screen, and he has a profecency (sp?) slot and only one weapon I can use it in (the dagger). However, it won't let me use the slot for that weapon, but he can't use any others! Any ideas?

Did you try scrolling down to see the other options? Edwin can put one proficiency point in each of the following weapons, as do all Mages.

Dagger
Quarterstaff
Sling
Darts

After Edwin uses the Nether Scroll the walkthrough says that after a period of time a red wizard will turn up looking for him. I've played the game 3x now and this dude never appears.

How long does it take? Usually I have to wait till the finale when they're doing the tears of Bhaal business before he returns to normal.

I waited a while for the Red Wizard to come. I don't know how long, but I rested like 100 times.

Have you patched your game?

I never patched mine, and I never went through any genderbending business at all.

Since I'm not hooked up at home I couldn't download the "official patch" so I don't know if that's what's holding up the appearance of Edwin's colleague.

I'd dearly love to order the "Darkest Day" but I don't think the manufacturers are accepting checks.

I never patched my game, but the Red Wizard dude came while I was in the D'Arnise Hold. He comes twice, as I remember, and *spoiler*

The first time he asks if you know Edwin, and if you say 'yes, he's that woman over there' Edwin will drop out of your party and will go hostile.
