A little more detail is required. System specs?

Could be a number of things, but then again I've never had that kind of problem. Could be you don't have enough space on your hard-drive, it's bugged or the file is corrupted, and so forth.

Try checking how much space you have on your hard-drive and see if it has enough space to support the movie. Also try scanning it with an anti-virus program to see if it is corrupted or bugged (preferably Nortons).

Your attempting to install LoTR? A game I assume?

What critical error is it giving you? What OS are you using? How much free HD space do you have?

Stormymystic 04-17-2003 09:44 PM

Windows XP
and at the time of trying to install the mem on HD was 89%looking
looking up error logs right now

Gangrell 04-17-2003 09:48 PM

XP, hmmmm. Try brousing as few websites to find a game patch because Xp does have problems with games, ranging from lag to bottom out crashing. Just make sure you have enough room for the game other-wise you'll be in one laggy arse hell

Okay, first thing you need to do.

Go to Start-->Control Panel-->System and select the Advanced tab.

Select the Start up and Recovery settings and uncheck the box Automatically restart.

This will let you see which error it's coughing up. Right down everything pertaining to the error. It's probably a stop code of some sort, with a very long number with an "X" in it. Run that error code through a decent search engine or through the MS Knowledge Base and it should tell you exactly what the problem is.
