in general Japanese is NOT a general subject taught here in the philippines. it depends on what school actually and if your in college, what course your are also taking. for example, there are two college universities i know that gives courses for japanese which is required for them to graduate. there is also serperate schools that offer ONLY japanese language classes. there may be a school that i dont know of that teaches japanese to grade school and highschool just like for example: Xavier School, Grace Christian School, Jubilee School are chinese schools therefor they teach chinese language from nursery to highschool.
actually, the education system here gets worse everyday and we cant even teach basic english to the public class population. sigh... how i envy 1rst world countries education system. beleive me...
