Hi guys. Hoping you can help me out with a new problem I'm having with my scanner. It's an Optrox Photomaker 3E that I've had for about 4-5 years and had no problems with. I haven't tried using it in a few months, but last time I did, it was fine. I tried using it yesterday, and what ever area it scans just comes back black. Not just the object I'm scanning, the whole area. Doesn't seem to matter what I try to scan, if the lid's up or down or anything else. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver. The light for scanning is on and it's moving. Optrox doesn't seem to have a webpage anymore, so I can't go there for troubleshooting. I really don't have the money for a new scanner (even a cheap one) so if anyone could help me get this one working again, it'd be great.
Thanks in advance. edit: said printer, meant scanner. The problem's with my scanner, guess I should re-read before posting [ 03-31-2003, 10:20 AM: Message edited by: harleyquinn ] |
I cant think of anything in software that would act like this. Sensitivity settings dont go down that far.
Dead or misaligned sensor? In which case you probably need profesional repair. Although if its a loose connection you might be able to fix it yourself. Dont break any warranty seals though. |
Not sure how something would've broke seeing as how it's been sitting on the table the whole time, but that answer does make the most sense and it's not something I had thought of. Hopefully it's just a loose wire and not a broken one.
Not worried about the warranty thing, it's 5 years old, way past the 1 year warranty. Thanks for the suggestion. [ 03-31-2003, 10:15 AM: Message edited by: harleyquinn ] |

edit: Magik, my apologies, I just noticed I said "printer" when I meant "scanner" in my original post. I'll go change that. Thanks again for the suggestion. [ 03-31-2003, 10:19 AM: Message edited by: harleyquinn ] |
