It seems that all the PC gamming mags include a cd with demos. Does anyone load these? I've tries a couple of times and had nothing but grief from them. Half the time the game doesn't play or you can't get rid of all the file the cd installs. For me I now call these cds targets. Great bb gun targets.

My brother subscribes to PCzone so he's got a pile of them about 2 foot high. some of the demo's are quite good (it was one of those disks that made me wanna buy Deus Ex). wereas some are almost impossible to get off your PC and aren't worth the trouble installing. really depends on the magazine.

I love them. I only buy a game if I played the demo and liked it. And I only load the ones that are ok for XP. The cheaper crap can leave all kinds of stuff, like Gator. I hate Gator.

I've had some similar problems with demos, but it's usually the cheaper stuff. I even got some cheapo games with my new $200 video card last year. These were full versions, but they were cheap crap as well. I had to manually remove most of their entries from my registry. :(

The Softworld ( a chinese game magazine ) that I subscribe usually have demo cds in it. Usually there are some demo I can installed and some cannot. but the one that can be installed one will have a hard time uninstalling it. I had to remove them manually
