Grrrrrr......I use KaZaa Lite as my primary P2P file sharing application. Tonight, I got a message that - unless I download version 2.1, I will be unable to use any of the download links in the program.
Does this mean that I can no longer obtain files from other users? It sure seems that way. I'm trying to download a couple of songs right now, and I keep getting "More Sources Needed". And some of the files do NOT react when I choose the "Find More Sources..." option in the drop down menu.
Am I going to be "forced" to switch to KaZaa 2.1? And does anybody know if it contains spyware. KaZaa assures the user that no application connected with KaZaa collects personally identifiable information...but then they turn right around and say that KaZaa does use banner advertising and retains the right to use "other third party software applications".
Sounds to me like their just talking "around the issue". I believe spyware IS incorporated into the software and they know it is. All they say is that THEIR software and site does not "collect personally identifiable information". It gives NO assurance that the same holds true for the "3rd Party" software they reserve the right to implement.
Does anybody know for certain? I would appreciate it.
