How do I convert a picture from whatever color quality it is, to 256 colors only?

One way is to hit ctrl+alt+shift+s all at the same time. Choose .gif from one of the comboboxes and 256 from one of the others.. But their is a more efficient and proper way to do this without saving the image i am sure..

While we're on the topic of Photoshop (I don't want to make a new thread)

A question to /)eathkiller (or anyone else who knows how to do this..)

How do you colour you scanned drawings? I've got a few tutorials, but I was wondering how you do it? Just point me to a web site and I'll be happy.

SORRY, Luvian, but I didn't want to make a whole new thread to ask one question.

Best way to color a picture is to carefully select each area you want to color and then use "Hue/Saturation"... I don't have photoshop right now but it's in the the menu next to edit...

Don't worry, GokuZool, I don't mind. I know how to color an image, but I'm effraid my english is not good enough to give a simple explanation.

But the trick is touse multiple layers.
