I'm sick of how it slows down every other application on my P4 whenever I have it running. :mad:

I've thought of getting RealPlusOne, is that any good?

I've also gotten DivX Alpha, the problem is that you can only play certain stuff on it.

I've also got Quicktime 6 but it's limited in what it can play as well, and the interface is really cumbersome.

What other video/movie players do you guys use which you've found really good, lots of features, etc?

<font color="00cc99">Yeah media player can be a bit of a ram eater at times. Aparently you can use winamp3 to play movies, or you could dl a free player like I did. I use one called 'The playa' although it's pretty basic.</font>

Download BSplayer (just do a search under google)..

I sometimes use ASUSDVD 2000 or PowerVCD to watch movies. it's good.

The Windows Media Player that I have works fine, no slowdown at all. I'm on a P3 733mhz and have no problems.

Winamp 3 does play movies, but it doesn't have many features at all.

Real Player, IMO, is terrible. It always freezes when i click on a movie. The only way I can watch movies without it freezing is if I click on the RP icon and go to open! [img]tongue.gif[/img]

As Dreamer saud, use BSplayer for divx encoded movies. I also use mv2player which handles a lot of different codecs. [img]smile.gif[/img] Both are available at www.download.com

What about non-DivX encoded stuff? Any good players out there that will play these?

Try MV2player Memsy. It plays every codec installed on the computer. It´s way better than wmp. [img]smile.gif[/img] Then there´s Nplayer. I used that one before I got MV2player. It´s good but it has some problems with decoding.

I second the notion for using BSPlayer. It can play almost anything Memnoch. Not just Divx stuff. You just need to install the correct codecs. What you need to do is download the full version of the Tsunami Filter pack http://www.divx-digest.com/software/tsunami_pack.html and then you will have pretty much EVERY codec you ever need and then BSPlayer will be able to play almost any movie format you can throw at it (in my experience although of course I haven't tried every file format). http://www.bsplayer.org/ You can play normal and divx AVIs as well as MPGs, video CD DATs, ASF, WMV and a couple of other obscure formats. The exception I have seen so far is the QuickTime .MOV format but who needs that anyway?

Winamp3, and PowerDVD handle most of my movie playing needs (mostly winamp3). PowerDVD is a pay product, but very very good - gives marginally better results viewing most movies.

BSPlayer is quite good as well, but I've never really had a need to use it.
