Well, I don't have the Wall Video (Pink Floyd) anymore (my sister can't find it) and after most songs of the Wall on the first CD, you here a distinct beeping. What is it, is it a phone. You here it after Another brick in the Wall (II) Bring the Boys Back Home, and a few others. Anyways, does anyone know what it is. My guess is a phone.

I don't believe it's in most of the songs, but I know you can hear the sound the phone makes when the other person hangs up and you don't for a while, maybe that's what you're referring to.

Well your right, its not in most of the songs. But still, is it a phone. It doesn't sound like that in the U.S., is it British or somethin?
|
It's a phone, with an operator talking. Not an American phone though, probably a UK operator.

Ok, that is a lot better. Its been bugging for weeks now.
|
Aye, a UK operator. The character the album is about calls home to his wife via the operator and a man answers, thus he finds out she's having an affair while he's away on tour. It's part of the story
It was done properly - a real call was made to the real operator so it would seem natural and real on the album. Another real sound used on the album is the soundtrack of a war movie on TV. BTW I dislike Pink Floyd but my ex loved them, so I was subjected to this over and over  |
I conqure, its a phone. His wife is cheating on him, just another brick. ;)
