Hi!
I just bought a DVD player. I have PC Friendly DVD player software but no decoder to decode DVDs. Please help as I don't have WinDVD with my oldish computer. Where can I get free software? Weisi |
All I know is that PowerDVD Is the best DVD player you can get, and is totally worth the price...

Go to http://www.divx.com and download the free trail version of WinPlatinumDvd or one of the free players.. (lesser quality)

Warning RE: the DivX player... it includes SpyWare. Depending on your threshold for others snooping in your personal business it may not be for you.
I've been able to play DVD's using Windows Media Player I think, although I normally use PowerDVD. It could be that once the CODEC is installed WMP will be able to play them (although maybe my memory is faulty). |
Dont bother with the standard DivX player.. if you rewind or go forward, the sound no longer runs in sinc with the video. Most irritating. So.. I downloaded Zoomplayer. Very good, except for the static all the time..
Now, I am using the BSPlayer, which is VERY good. |
BSPlayer is free, and it's pretty good but I've found PowerDVD is by far the best. Get it.

PowerDVD? A free one?

Windows Media Player and Real Player One will both play DVDs.

EDIT>Ronn, WMP is spyware, especially with XP. I don't recommend that one at all. [ 01-25-2003, 04:46 PM: Message edited by: Sir Krustin ] |
