But i need some convincing, whats so great about it??

Whats so great about it? Some of the biggest toughest battles youll ever face, plus its the conclusion to the storyline. Not getting through ToB would be like watching 2/3 of a great film.

Although it is a bit linear at times.

No but he wants out of hell and you're his ticket out of there. he's definitely worthwhile bringing along. Apart from him TOB adds lots of new items, terrifying monsters and boosts the Exp cap up to 8 million. Adds heaps of new special abilities too.
