In the last few weeks, I've seen a hardware requirement on some newer games that lists the following:
"3D video card that supports T & L", or "TnL based 3d video card" What the heck is "T&L"?! I don't think I've heard of that particular feature? Any info is greatly appreciated. Regards, Michael |
Either Texture and Lighting or Transform and Lighting. It's been a while. It's an easier way to program light sources and its effects on objects and surfaces in 3d games, making it run faster due to the reduced instruction set OR run the same with way better effects.

There is a short explanation here. Just about any decent video card produced after 2000 will support this feature.

Geforce 2 on up, radeons, anything modern. Geforce classic and anything Voodoo dont have it.
