if you play a ranger you can choose fairies to be your racial enemy... well what exactly are these... beside fairy dragon familiars i cant remember and fairies in the game...

I think the only place you'll come into contact with Fairies is in the Windspear Hills. There is a fairy mound and the fairy queen.

This is part of the 'return the acorns of the trapped dryads quest' which you can get in the Irenicus' dungeon.

Spoiler

Isn't this gonig to affect the acorns quest???
I mean if the fairy are your racial enemy then you aren't able to help them nor to retriving the dijin flask, or so i think...

Could be that he's playing an evil character. I've always played good so I had no problem. If he kill off the dryads maybe the djinn's flask could be looted from their corpses.

It can.

If you want to RP the situation:

You are a bastard ranger who sees it as his life quest to rid the world of all vain folly and ridiculousness, especially those blasted frivolous faeries.

As you suddenly stumble upon three fine specimens in the middle of a dungeon you feel the rage build up in you: "How did these beings succeed in poisoning these solemm halls with their jolliness!?!"

But just as you are about to charge you quell your rage. "It is a bit strange of these creatures to be here. Perhaps it's a part of some vile faerie plot. Better play "nice guy" and interrogate them a bit."

After asking them some questions you find out that these beings are trapped in this dungeon because they are bound to their trees. "Serves them right", you think. They can, however, be freed if if you can take some acorns from their trees to the fairy queen. You "accept" knowing that this could potentially lead you to the fairy "heaquarters" where you would like to do a little "commando raid".

After accepting the quest you tell Imoen that these "faeries" do not conform to general faerie behaviour and are in fact rather devious shapeshifters hired by Irenicus. Perhaps a little practice with the fireball would be in order.

Later on you look at the acorns. "Hmm, how would they taste roasted with mustard?".

Killing the Fairies in Jon Irenicus' Dungeon will lead to a highly hilarious encounter at the Fairy Mound in Windspear Hills. Note that this is only suitable for those evil at heart.

*snicker*

The tone of shock and horror in the Fairy Mother's voice as she condemn my NE Necromancer for slaughtering her brethen. She tried to put up a fight, but really... bears and lions? Rightttt... ...
