So far, everything seems to be gerat. I read that although Microsoft has issues with it's software, one thing they knew how to make right was their hardware. I decided to buy a Microsoft optical instead of a Logitech. I needed one, due to the ball-powered mouse always clogging up (1/mo), so Optical was the only serious choice for me. I do not do well with the track balls. I like how it glows red and all. Nice visuals. The only problem is that my freeware pointer graphics were taken off during installation of the software.

My now semi-new computer came with a logitech mouse, which I didnt like the way the scrolling button worked. So I put my old microsoft mouse on. Well it just bought the farm (died) So I put the Logitech on back and then noticed it didnt have the ball underneath lol. When I hooked the computer up out of the box I didnt even look! I do like the lack of having to clean the ball (although I can assure you I clean my balls) and am getting used to the scrolling button. I just wish it scrolled smoother like my old Microsoft :( but oh well

Just out of curiosity, why did you pick a microsoft mouse over a logitech? I got my Logitech 2 years ago and my friend has been through 3 Microsoft mouses in that time. Plus he takes better care of his hardware than me.

I am currently using a Kensington mouse, was only twenty bucks, and it works just fine, scroll wheel included ;)

After years of using logitech; I switched to microsoft when I got my first optical mouse. It has worked great for me and I've had it for 2 years. I'm not a microsoft fan by any means. (Bill Gates is a government agent and Microsoft is owned by the CIA) My computer is home assembled from parts and brands that I wanted. This time I chose microsoft for my mouse and keyboard.

When I bought my new computer 6 months ago, one of the BIG things I insisted on was an optical mouse.

Like LofA, I kept my balls clean, but this is soooooooo much simpler! ;)

Well Ronn clean balls are happy balls Far more reproductive and way easier to handle on the pad

Well, maybe there is a problem. I have the thing set up that reports explorer problems to Microsoft when an error occurs. I usually ahve one or two/mo...but I just had four within 60 seconds! wth???

Can this be related to my new mouse? I am running 98SE.

Add two more to that in the last five minutes! ARRHHH!!
