HOW DO I GET A PIC IN MY SIG
explane it like you were talking to a 10 year old because you ARE!!!

/)eathKiller 11-12-2002 12:35 AM

ok... 10... 10... *tries to work out mentatlity* Right... 5th grade...

ummm

this is the SPECIAL CODE for putting images in your sig

[img] [/img]

Put any URL in between those that is a picture (Like a web adress that starts with http:// and ends in .jpg or .gif or something) and that's all there is to it

You cannot link images from your computer so don't bother

if you want to use an image that is on your computer i recomend going to

www.ranchoweb.com and signing up along with uploading the image to the net that way, then you just put the url of the picture between the with NO SPACES and it'll work...

Alright?

Why do you need a picture, words work out just fine

You will need to go to a site like ranchoweb.com to store the picture you want to use in your signature. When you look at the file it will give you an address that you then enter into your member profile. You will go into View/Update profile and enter the pictures address in the white to the right of the Signature line. The address should be typed in like this:
example: http://img.ranchoweb.com/images/chimaster/turkey.jpg

Where "chimaster" is will be the actual name of the folder (which you have named) on the ranchoweb.com site.
Where "turkey.jpg" is will be the actual name of your picture as labeled on the rachoweb site.
The most important things to remember are the at the end. There are no spaces and the brackets are the square ones (located just right of the P on your keyboard (lower case))
I hope this does it for you. As someone who had a lot of problems getting this right; my advice is to keep trying and let all the great people here help you.
edit
I forgot that my example would try to post as a picture. I will pm it to you.

Nano you say that for 2 reasons.
1) You know such witty people. (Great quotes from great minds.) :D
2) You realize that a real picture would scare little children and you have to much respect for Ziroc wanting to keep this a family forum.

Whoa, boy! You obviously neglected your Rules & Regulations.

Be Sig Smart: The larger your image in your sig, the longer it takes for others to load it. Don't forget, MANY people still use dial-up internet, and huge images take a LONG time to download. we allow the following as per signatures:

<center> http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...ample_size.jpg</center>

We allow up to 2 Images in your sig. But, we <u>prefer</u> you use 1 or combine the 2 into one image. If you use 1 image in your signature, you are allowed the image resolution to be 225x155, and no more than 150Kb in size. This NEW Size will take effect on January 27th 2002. Anyone before that time will still be allowed to keep their slightly larger sig.

If you wish to use 2 images, both images must be no larger than 280x220 combined in resolution, and 150Kb in size as well. Your text sig or 'tagline' must not exceed 300 characters as well.

If you do not follow these rules, your profile may be edited, your image removed and account profile locked out to modification.

<font color=red>Back to me.</font> To resize your picture, you'll have to use the html tag < img src="IMAGE URL"height=# width=# >, just without the spaces between the <'s.

You can still use it, you'll just have to resize it down to the appropriate size.
