The reviewer said they added some to the fight scenes and the have more character development in the Hobbitown. And as someone above said there are 4 cds included.

Somebody said that the Lothlorien part was expanded...

MagiK 11-08-2002 08:57 PM

That was me Attalus They put the part where Galadriel gave each member a gift before parting, the expanded fight scene and more stuff in Hobbiton

Sounds great - but did they address my one and only disappointment - did they reforge the sword that was broken before leaving Rivendell. Like it would have taken 10 secs to flash to a picture of a smithy pounding an anvil and say that the sword was reforged - oh well, I will still buy the extended version - makes me want to buy a DVD player as well now ;)

And to top it off, they are also sell a boxed set that has FIVE DVDs!

It comes with bookends of the stone kings (sorry, can't remember what they are called right now - Agaroths or somesuch?), collector's cards and an extra DVD from National Geographic on 'the world of Tolkein'. :D I'm getting THIS one. ;)

Edit: to point out that I know this as I'm a manager at Blockbusters and I just received this in our Pool Point (weekly deliveries) on Wednesday. I still can't buy it until this coming Tuesday, though, or it's a street date violation. *sigh* TORTURE!

;)
