Found this nice site where you can run a search if a program contains spyware. Simply check before you install http://www.spychecker.com Thought I´d put this in here since there´s been some spyware questions in here from time to time.

Oooh, and here´s another goody to get rid of mail. You can let the spam bounce back from your mailserver and the sender will think your email doesn´t exist. It´s called Mailwasher and you can get that here http://www.mailwasher.net . And I think it´s free too

And to get rid of Spyware just run Ad-Aware.

Just don't be surprised when some of the free programmes you have come to rely on stop working ;)

It's a lovely day in the neighborhood (Mr. Mouse enters wearing a sweater)
Can you say Kazaa children. Sure you can.

Some freeware requires its' spyware, or it won't work.

iMesh is a good example. If you uninstall the ad package(which ad-aware detects as spyware), the program no longer works.

i think the same will happen the divix pro codex, it needs the spyware to run, although all divix's spyware will do is make more of the annoying popups.

you can still run ad-aware just don't touch the stuff you know is apart of imesh, I did that and I was fine didly ine!

That's right Steve.

I uninstalled iMesh, ran ad-aware to make sure I was "clean", then re-installed iMesh, ran ad-aware again, put those iMesh items on the ignore list, and I was good to go.

iMesh uses Cydoor, which supposedly isn't spyware, but does cause pop-ups while you use iMesh only.

I've also seen something called spybot, which is suppose to detect things ad-aware misses, but haven't been able to download it yet. The server is down or something. Anyway, it looks good, but is supposedly more "dangerous" to your system than ad-aware. You actual have to know what you're deleting with spybot or you can screw your system up. I can't wait to get it...lol. :D
