Apparently the theatre is now under Russian control, and the leader of the Chechen forces has been killed. The troops stormed the building a few minutes ago (according to CNN).

Several dozen hostages have been seen leaving the building but remember that there were 700 in there. No idea on how many casualties inside. :(

Apparently they raided after the Chechen forces started to execute the hostages. I heard that only around 10 hostages have been killed in the raid! I guess it could have been a lot worse.

I just heard on CNN a reporter snuck in and saw scores of bodies being lined up in the theatre and a whole convoy of ambulances out front. but this news is still young enough for speculation.

However many are dead, it is indeed sad and pitiful.

according to Reuters, 2 had been executed befor ethe strike, about 10 dead in total now of hostages. of the hostage-takers about 36 killed and the few others escaped

yeah, good thing they did that. once they start executing hostages, the best move is to take out them out as fast as possible.
