Most importantly, here is the link: Starcraft: Ghost

To back this up, I want to say that I am not a strategist. What I mean is, I don't play strategy games simply because I am too undercoordinated (game-wise). BUT this is not a strategy game, this is the 3rd person action/adventure version of the strategy game.

I was over my Uncle's this weekend, and had the time to read a gaming magazine on all the upcoming games. This one peaked my interest (they had a GBA D&D, but it looked horrible, only 3 races and 4 classes to choose from). I am not a Blizzard fanatic either, I play Diablo, and that about covers it. This game is simply monumental. Here are some pics (with the links for any 56Kers):

If you ask me, this looks a lot like Halo. Oh, thing is, this is a console game only. Sorry guys.

What I wonder is, are these screan shots of the little movies between each chapter or is this actual game play? If this is the actual game Then I 'm going to get this game. I played the original starcraft 1 & 2 but it didn't look and act like what these pictures seem to be. is this game out?
this could be a purrfect game

The second is a cinematic I believe. It comes out late 2003. It's sorta like Lara Croft meets Aliens (and Predator if you count the Protoss)

wow another game to delay the innevitable. . . Why can't Blizzard just make a starcraft game like a sequel to starcraft! This is turning out worse than what bungie did with Halo (which was supposed to be a strategy game originall) This sounds like the same old story all over again *sigh*

I'm actually looking forward to this AND Halo 2. Both top my charts now that ID2 is out.

and by the way, none of those (well except the sketch) are cinematic, they're all in-game. Belive me, my comp has put out graphics like that easy... and yes halo 2 is big on my list because I'm a Bungie VidBoi :D Another high-priotity game on my list is the new Phantasy Star Online :D The PC version will be UPGRADABLE this time, unlike the pathetic X-box and Gamecube versions which are selling like hotcakes, it will be forever progressing, and probably wont cost as much to play

I've already heard of this...... And cursed Blizzard loudly for it. This was really rather a "Screw you!" to a lot of Blizzard fans who waited loyally for news of something like Starcraft 2 or an expansion for Warcraft 3 when they said that they were working on something new. Instead we get this.

First of all it's just a stupid shooter, even if it IS a Thief-like game I doubt that it moves far beyond: Shoot all enemies

Secondly: It's pretty much a kick in the face to all of Blizzard's loyal PC fans since this is a game for various consoles.

Thirdly: This is just SO much a Lara Croft ripoff. It will sell to the young teenage males who like to stare at animated breasts.

*hums quietly as he walks off and plans how he will make Blizzard pay for their crime*

Well. Firstly, I believe the difference in console games and computer games is the multiplayer capability. Yes, computers have them also (of course!), but you need a LAN or an Internet connection. Consoles usually allow up to 4 players on one system, and that is what I go for mainly. Heck, I never said I was going to buy this, I said it looked cool to me since I am not a strategist. So, in comparison:

Consoles are for when you have 3 friends over and wish to play a game together.

Computers are for when you have no friends over, but wish to play a game with friends.

Just my opinion. I don't favor online consoling either. There should be a line that separates the two. That is too far. Sorry if I seem naive.

ALSO, to calm your fears, I also read that they are working on a Starcraft 2 for all of you, so don't worry Neb.

Blizzard started as a console-game company. One could say that they are returning to their roots with this game. A game is a game. If you like it, play it, if you don't, don't.

I find it amusing that people are deriding Blizzard for making one console game this year when they have so many other PC titles, and we are going to get World of Warcraft later, and Starcraft 2 is an eventuality, not buried in dust.

Actually I'm not fearing the non-occurrence of a Starcraft 2. Though I doubt it's creation, they've got a lot to live up to if they make a sequel. If they blow it they could lose a good deal of rep, they'll have to do a damn good job on it.

Personally I'd much rather see an entirely new world other than the three established Blizzard worlds: Diablo, Warcraft and Starcraft.

And Blizzard's "roots"? Returning to them would be a bad idea in my opinion, they're buried too deep. They'll lose almost every single PC fan they have if they go for too many console games.

One thing that I really can't see is why some games are made for consoles only. PC's can easily run them as well after a bit of modification, and not everyone wants to waste money on a console when they've got a PC. I can see why some games aren't made for consoles, they really just don't fit. But most games for consoles could easily me ported to Macs and PC's.
