I saw a thread similar to this one in the BG2 archives, and I thought it might be fun to start a similar thread here.

I've been role-playing AD&D and Traveller (the first three incarnations, i won't touch T4 with a toilet plunger) since 1980, and although I never play AD&D anymore and I can't find any players for TNE, I still play shadowrun (currently GMing as our usual GM is off to school in Thunder Bay).

How about you guys, what do you play?

I used to PnP with all my pals when I still lived in Cuba. Unfortunately I moved, and i'll be hard pressed to find anyone in the area that's into that sort of thing. Or that doesn't think it's a cult or something of that nature...

I still play, but I took quite a long break recently. I ran a Vampire/ WOD campaign for about 6 years or so. It was one long story from beginning to end with all sorts of mini stories interwoven. The final session referred back to events that had transpired in the very first and served to wrap everything up. It was huge... Also very time- and enrgy-consuming. I was totally spent by then end. I needed a break. I continued to play for a while as a player, but found that I didn't have as much fun playing a story as I did creating one.
I have created a totally original Fantasy world, with a new mostly-original ruleset that I am anxious to play. When my old group finishes the story they are playing now, I might be able to get them to join me and play my new story, which I planned to have a 5-year story arc.

My old college group gets together once a year in Charlotte, NC since a large majority of them ended up there after school.

I haven't been able to go to these reunions as of yet, hopefully next year.

That's why I like BG 1&2 and the Roleplaying Forums here on Escape Gaming.

BTW, RedBlueFlare - If you are in college (which I believe you are), you should DEFINITELY be able to find some other gamers. Look for "Science Fiction Clubs" or just post an ad in the campus newspaper. That's how I recruited some new players after most of our original group graduated and moved.

we play 2nd ed ad&d most every week. nathan (morgeruat) and i. nathan started in 96, i started ad&d last year, but i had played d&d before, way back when, like too young to understand type way back when. he says he got me into it as a cheap date i think he just knew we would eventually get married and didn't want a mysterious disappearing act every friday to marr his record! silly me...

I just started playing 3rd edition D&D with some friends of whom some have been playing it for a couple of years now. We try to play every week.

I used to GM Earthdawn and play Rolemaster, very often when I was in Uni. Unfortunately, we got separated and only meet once a year now.

I'm one a roleplaying forum where I DM 2 2nd edition AD&D games and one Modified Alternity game.

I'm also a player in one 2nd edition and one 3rd edition game there. Keeps me busy

Just started playing again after a 3-year hiatus. Thank god I'm not running the game this time :D (no time).
